  11. is a disk file catalog program. Each disk read can be assigned a Box
  12. number as well as a disk number and volume label. This allows you to
  13. store your disks in boxes and easily locate a particular disk.

  15. Disk and file descriptions can be easily entered and edited. The
  16. contents of archive files are automatically read and can be displayed on
  17. screen at the press of a key. Disk directory labels can be previewed on
  18. screen and printed. Diskmate requires 1MB of disk space.

  24. is a 3k shell for DOS which displays two directory windows at the top of
  25. the screen while giving you a DOS prompt at the bottom. The left window
  26. displays whichever directory you specify while the right window changes
  27. automatically as you change drives and directories at the prompt. The
  28. window display may be toggled off for a full-screen view of DOS.

  30. Function keys let you view, edit, copy, delete, and rename files. A menu
  31. can be brought up for other functions. Although the program was designed
  32. for networks, it works well on a single system and is ideal for anyone

  39. is an upper memory manager for a 286 NEAT CHIPSet, a 386SX NEATsx
  40. CHIPSet or a AT/386 CHIPSet. It helps achieve more free conventional DOS
  41. memory. The program uses the shadow RAM of these chipsets to load device
  42. drivers and TSRs into unused areas of the upper memory area.

  48. is a Windows-style graphical interface menu for DOS. It uses standard
  49. Windows icons to represent your programs. Features include multiple
  50. levels of nested menu pages that can hold thousands of programs,
  51. password protection for programs and pages, hotkeys, variable program
  52. parameters, file pick-lists, built-in icon editor, built-in screen
  53. saver, usage log, and PCX background images.

  55. Magic Desk can run any COM, EXE, or BAT file, or any DOS command, and it
  56. does not remain in memory while running other programs. Requires

  64. related to keyboard, video, disks, files, and DOS. For example, there
  65. are functions to count words in a file, to detect archive type, to print
  66. the screen, and to make sounds.

  72. multiple configuration manager, allowing you to easily boot your system
  73. up with different drivers and TSR's installed.

  76. checks the disk drive status. It displays a list of available drive
  77. letters and returns total number of drives via errorlevel. It checks for

  79. errorlevel.

  93. ASCII file into a single file.

  99. a string of characters in all selected files a directory. GLEDIT prompts
  100. you before changing each line that may require modification.

  102. [GuardSet] (Gerald J. DePyper; $64) is a hard disk security program
  103. which attempts to restrict access to parts of your system by encrypting
  104. specified directory names. PsL Note: File managers such as Qfiler can
  105. still change into and copy files from these directories.

  108. make a new file without any duplicate records on it.

  118. My Little Realm's DizzE v1.0 [MLRDIZ] (John L. Salisbury, ASP; $10) is
  119. an editor for FILE_ID.DIZ files. It checks for the hyphen that BBSs

  122. MDModes 2.0 [MDMOD2] (John Owen; $27) is a collection of seven video
  123. utilities for testing video, changing modes, changing number of lines of
  124. text and more. (Note: the testing utility did not work on one of our
  125. systems with an ATI card.)

  127. PiGAS Security 1.01 [PIGAS] (Pigas Inc. ASP; $25) protects the
  128. information written on a disk against unauthorized access. Files and
  129. directories selected to be protected become unavailable for the
  130. unauthorized user.

  133. analyzer you can build for about $250.

  136. CMS tape backup units. Features include multi-drive backups, tag file
  137. generator, mouse support, schedular support, group-drive feature, batch
  138. file verification reports and more.

  141. program that allows you to have several programs loaded at once so that
  142. you can move between them without quitting one program to load another.

  152. DOS Prompt Clock 1.01 [DPCLOCK] (Chris Dunford; $0) is an on-screen
  153. clock. It displays only when you're at the DOS prompt. (Update)

  155. [RemindMe] (Cato Graphics; $29) reminds you of upcoming events,
  156. birthdays, meetings, etc. Requires a hard disk and 640K RAM.

  158. Home-Phone-Book 2.5 [HPB] (Thomas E. Bonitz; $20) is a phone book
  159. program. Features include birthday fields, phone dialing, first names of
  160. both husband and wife, address label printing, and several types of
  161. printouts.

  163. [WYWA] 1.0 (Sheldon L. Sobel; $29) is the PC version of "While You Were
  164. Away" message pad. Messages are encrypted to insure privacy. Other fea
  165. tures include sign-out notice modified with password, auto-run at boot
  166. time if notice is active, built-in screen saver, two passwords with
  167. three levels of access, and more.

  181. compress directories, sub-directories, and the files they contain into
